TEXTURE ARTIST
3D MODELER
ANIMATOR

 
 
TEXTURE DESIGNER/ARTIST:
 
Software:
* Adobe Photoshop CS or later

Preferred Additional Proficiencies:
* Adobe Illustrator CS or later
* Autodesk Maya 8
* Pixologic ZBrush 2
* Second Life

General Skills:
* Ability to pre-visualize form and texture for potential modeled objects
* Proficiency at creating illustrative surface texturing and detailing without photo-sourcing, if necessary
* Ability to adapt textures for existing modeled surfaces
* Understanding of texturing for game design and/or virtual worlds

The ideal candidate will be able to:
* Work with the modeler/builder to plan objects/structures to be executed
* Perform rapid visualizations (i.e. sketches) for objects.
* Understand the needs and limitations of the Second Life platform.

MODELER/BUILDER
 

Software:
* Second Life Client built-in modeling tools.

Preferred Additional Proficiencies:
* Autodesk Maya 8
* Poser 7

General Skills:
* Understanding of the limitations and peculiarities of the Second Life modeling environment
* Understanding of the methodology used in using mathematics-based positioning and sizing for the modeling tool.
* Ability to pre-visualize the final form with textured details and build models accordingly AND/OR:
* Ability to visualize the final form with textured details based on quick visualization sketches and determine build/model elements
* Ability to adapt modeled surfaces for textures

The ideal candidate will be able to:
* Work with the texture artist to plan objects/structures and texture to be executed.
* Be able to perform rapid visualizations (i.e. sketches) for objects.

ANIMATOR
 
Software:
* Poser 7
* Autodesk Maya 8

General Skills:
* Understanding of traditional animation principles (anticipation, follow-through, squash and stretch etc)
* Understanding of 3D computer animation methods (rigging etc.)
* Understanding of the limitations of the Second Life platform and Havoc physics engine (Havoc 2 familiarity preferred)

The ideal candidate will be able to adapt and scale their animation work to engines and systems outside the Second Life platform through an understanding of animation software and multiple platforms used for gaming and film/television animation.
